What We Do:

Common Question:

One of the most common questions we get at CODE is, “what does your name stand for and what do you do?” We have gotten this question so much that we thought we would, create this page to, dispel any notions of doubt or confusion.

First, our name is an acronym for COmmunity DEvelopment!

And, we are a 501(c)3 non-profit missions sending organization, focused on community development.

Now that sounds pretty vague, so let us tell you in a little more detail what we do…

As a missions sending organization it is obvious that we would send out missionaries. This involves recruiting, aiding with pre-launch duties (i.e. helping with visas, putting together ministry plans, assisting with fundraising and promoting the missionaries themselves). We also work to find pre-established ministries for these missionaries to partner with on behalf of CODE. We work to maintain relationships with these ministries so we can continue to send more people to aid them in their mission!

We not only send out missionaries, but we help some of them to create new ministries. There are a lot of people out there with creative and unique ministry ideas. The problem is they have these ideas, but they don’t know how to start. We work alongside these people to help launch these ministries in a timely fashion with the support and accountability of an already established ministry to back and support them! This can start out as early as the brainstorming phase as we help walk them through a ministry plan, put together support teams and help find missionaries to come alongside them to launch their ministries with success!

Our missionaries and ministry leaders are at the heart of our ministry, and to make sure our heart is healthy, we take a holistic approach in supporting our missionaries wherever they are! This involves many things, such as helping to maintain supporters and gain new supporters, helping to problem solve as they run into problems on the field, and even spending time checking in with them on a regular basis to make sure they are doing ok! As a community driven organization we feel that it is important that our missionaries feel a sense of community with other missionaries and ministry leaders throughout our organization, so we spend time encouraging them to make relationships and partnerships with all of our volunteers with CODE!

We are currently working to implement a training aspect that will help propel our ministry long-term. This endeavor is one of our main goals, and one we hope will lead to further success of our missionaries!
